Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 10, 2026
Food & Feed Ingredients Biz Inc. (“FFIB”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a Canadian ingredient sourcing and supply-chain solutions company. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website and business interactions, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to information collected through www.ingredients.biz and through the forms, inquiries, and communications connected to it.
By using our website or submitting information to us, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or provide your information. This document is a draft prepared for legal review and may be updated before final publication.
Information We Collect
We collect information you choose to provide to us, primarily in a business-to-business context. This may include:
- Contact details you submit through our forms — such as your name, company, job title, email address, and phone number — when you request a quote, contact us, subscribe to updates, register as a buyer, or apply as a supplier.
- Business information related to your inquiry — such as the products, specifications, volumes, markets, or certifications you are interested in, and information about your company’s operations that you include in a registration or application.
- Correspondence — records of the emails, calls, and messages we exchange with you.
- Technical information collected automatically when you browse the site, such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and referring pages (see Cookies and Analytics below).
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information through this website, and we ask that you do not submit it.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We use them in two ways:
- Essential cookies — required for the website to function correctly (for example, remembering form state or security features). These cannot be switched off through the site itself.
- Analytics cookies — used to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it (see Analytics below). These are used only to produce aggregate usage insight, not to identify you personally.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Doing so may affect how parts of the site work.
Analytics
We use website usage analytics to measure how the site is used — for example, which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, and general geographic regions. This information is aggregated and used to improve the website and our services. Where an analytics provider processes data on our behalf, it does so under its own privacy and data-processing terms.
Marketing Communications
If you subscribe to our newsletter or updates, or ask to be kept informed, we may send you occasional emails about sourcing insight, certification updates, new capabilities, and related FFIB news. We send marketing communications only where permitted by applicable law — on the basis of your consent or an existing business relationship, as applicable.
You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in every marketing email or by contacting us at sales@ingredients.biz. Opting out of marketing does not affect transactional or service communications related to an active inquiry or order.
SMS / Text Messaging (Consent & Opt-Out)
Where we offer SMS/text messaging (for example, order or inquiry updates), we send messages only to individuals who have given express consent to receive them — for instance, by checking an SMS consent box on one of our forms or by providing a mobile number specifically for a stated messaging purpose. Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.
- Message frequency varies depending on the purpose of the program (for example, updates related to your inquiry or order).
- Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
- You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. After you opt out, we will send a single confirmation message and then stop.
- For assistance, reply HELP to any message or contact us at sales@ingredients.biz.
Mobile phone numbers collected for SMS purposes, and SMS consent itself, are used only to deliver the messages you signed up for. We do not share or sell mobile numbers or SMS opt-in data to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.
How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only:
- With service providers who help us operate — such as website hosting, content management, email delivery, form processing, and analytics providers — and only to the extent needed to perform those services on our behalf.
- Within the ordinary course of fulfilling your request — for example, where completing a sourcing inquiry requires coordinating with logistics partners or qualified manufacturers, we share only what is necessary for that purpose.
- Where required by law — to comply with a legal obligation, court order, or lawful request by a public authority, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
- In a business transaction — if FFIB is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate protections.
Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we hold — including access controls, encrypted transmission (HTTPS), and reputable hosting and content-management providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security; if we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will act in accordance with applicable law.
Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information under applicable privacy laws — in Canada, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and equivalent provincial laws; elsewhere, the laws of your jurisdiction where applicable. These rights typically include:
- Access — asking whether we hold personal information about you and receiving a copy.
- Correction — asking us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion — asking us to delete personal information, subject to legal and contractual retention requirements.
- Withdrawal of consent / opt-out — withdrawing consent to marketing communications or SMS at any time, as described above.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at sales@ingredients.biz. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy — including maintaining business records, fulfilling inquiries and orders, and meeting legal, tax, and audit obligations — and then delete or anonymize it.
Children’s Privacy
Our website and services are intended for businesses and business professionals. They are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be posted on this page; your continued use of the website after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
